Have a beautiful Thanksgiving
for those of you who celebrate.
Notice the miracles all around you.
(I wrote this poem many years ago,
it was first published in “Feelings Magazine”)
UNNOTICED MIRACLES
Driving on this road
a thousand times before
hands on the wheel
playing it safe
looking straight ahead
Deviating from a robotic state
glancing out the window
an amazing sight
never seen before
Ice covered trees, luminescent in the sky
a fairy tale castle rests on a hill
a brook caresses the earth
sparrows in flight
A slight shift in focus
beauty is revealed
a million hues create the landscape
lilacs begin to bloom
perfume in the air
The miracles of life go unnoticed
can never be recaptured
by playing it safe
and looking straight ahead
A most beautiful painting Julie - it brings such a peaceful feeling with it.
I love your poem too - your thoughts are very true xx
