Up until four years ago I lived my whole life near the Ocean.
These past four years I've been a landlocked mermaid.
But it's only made me appreciate the Ocean even more.
Although I've been missing her so much.
Well I finally got to visit her.
A while ago I painted this watercolor of a pink beach cottage
and ever since
I've had a wish to stay in a pink beach cottage.
Well I got my wish last week!
I discovered the charming seaside town of Tybee Island in Georgia.
And would you believe I found a place called mermaid cottages!
They have the most adorable little pink beach cottage.
My sweet husband and I stayed here for five days.
It was heavenly.
Old friends came to visit . . .
We laughed, flew a kite and walked on the beach.
I became renewed, a happy mermaid once again!
I am so glad that you got to the ocean and especially that you stayed in a place called Mermaid cottages. I live outside of Atlanta and so Tybee is not that far from me. It has been awhile since I have been there but the cottages sound lovely. I love your painting of the pink cottage. What a wonderful way to remember your vacation.

What a wonderful way to spend five days....at the beach in a pink cottage! Both your paintings show your love for the beach.

So wonderful, Julie! Sounds like the perfect thing to boost you up. Love that pink cottage (so serendipitous that it's a mermaid cottage!) and your paintings! Just reading your entry makes me feel renewed, too.

No way! Hmmm . . . you painted your reality! And it sounds lovely - I'm glad you had a nice time and that you got some beach time with your DH! AND, this is one of my favorite paintings of yours yet - the bold pink color is so FAB! xoxo
