I've been absent from my blog for a little while. A dear family member is no longer with us and these are sad times. Whenever someone leaves your life it really is a reminder of how precious life is. It is a reminder of what is important. Life truly is a gift. Today is today and tomorrow is also today. There is nothing more important than the present.

Painting is always so healing for me

and keeps me focused on the present moment.

All Spring long, this little nature fairy

has been taking care of a family of caterpillars.

It's time to say goodbye.

Summer of Color

If you know me then you know I love color! And I love Summer. I found an art challenge by the lovely Kristin called The Summer of Color  The first color of the challenge is one of my favorite colors, blue. I am going to be creating with my favorite mediums, watercolor and gouache. I also think I am going to play around with an altered art book. I love books and never really liked the thought of “destroying” a book! But I really like recycling. So I'm going to recycle and create art from a book that was destined for a land fill.

This isn't part of the challenge but here is a blue creation from the past.

I’ve been feeling such a strong desire for completion. Completion of unfinished projects. I love starting new things, but completing them is usually painful. But once they are completed there is a sense of peace. Well one of the projects I have been working on is, finding the right place to share prints of my art with you. I am really happy to announce that prints are now available here at The Untapped Source and I'm really excited about it! Is there anything in your life that you’d like to complete?
