It’s day 20 of art every day month. There is a chill in the air, steam rising from the earth, the vibrant colors of fall have turned grey. I have a question today, for all you wonderful creative souls. Are you doing the exact creative thing you want to be doing? I mean, do you want to paint but write instead? Do you want to write but cook instead? Do you want to sing but dance instead? Do you want to dance but sew instead? Are you circling around the thing you really want but don’t have quite the courage to really embrace your heart’s desire? Are you almost there but not quite? Or have you truly immersed yourself in your bliss? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
A poem for today
Monday
I said I’d start on Monday
He said he’d stop on Monday
He said he’d stop on Monday
He’d stop eating tobacco
Smoking reflections
I said I’d start on Monday
I’d sleep in the piano
Live in an envelope
We said we’d start and stop on Monday
Fill soup bowls with moments
Train cases with seconds
Flower boxes with centuries
He said he’d stop on Monday
He’d stop walking on tigers
Flying in violins
I said I’d start on Monday
I’d read the space between rain
Swim in a sparrow’s dream
He said He’d stop on Monday
I said I’d start on Monday
Monday is just a dream
and a simple watercolor

wow. so poignant is the poem.
so peaceful is the watercolor.
so grateful am I to be present here, with you.
